Built in 1828 by Major Charles Michie, a veteran of the War of 1812, Woodlawn is a stately Greek Revival home with broad views across the surrounding land.
When Federal troops occupied La Grange in 1862, Woodlawn served as the Western Tennessee headquarters for General William T. Sherman and was used as an emergency hospital during the Civil War. The home later became the office of Dr. J. J. Pulliam, who bought the property in 1875.
Today, original furnishings remain in the home. The porch, columns, pastures, and generous grounds create a setting that feels at once historic and entirely your own.
